What We Stand For
Bath Culture House is not a money-making machine. It's a business, but one that stems from the heart, and a significant pay-cut for founder Lucie, once of the corporate world!
Here are some of the things we stand for:
Always authentic, always unpasteurised
We'll only ever make products that are made the natural way, providing the best possible chance of helping you and your gut. We will never pasteurise and never use commercially-made cultures. The process for making our sauerkraut, kombucha and kimchi matches the process communities around the world have used for thousands of years.
Community focus
We work in the beautiful Mendips, in our hideout in the small village of Ubley. Our team live nearby and travel short distances to come to work. We supply local shops, and support local businesses where possible, such as The Bottle Company South, who are based in Keynsham. We give back to Bowel Cancer UK, a minimum of £1,000 per year. Supporting local people and companies helps keep local money from spilling into large corporation's pockets - and who knows where that money goes...
Self-care
We're proud to make products that are healthy and sustainably made, and great for any diet - keto, low carb, low sugar, high fibre, the list goes on. Choosing to look after oursleves is one of the most important decisions we can make, especially after going through a health scare or losing a loved one. How can we help others if we don't look after ourself?
Keep evolving
Bath Culture House isn't about staying still. We're always experimenting in the kitchen and looking for our next product, something that can wow you and your taste buds! Having worked solo for several years, Lucie now employes 9 local members of staff, giving back to our community. We're always looking for new ways to grow and develop, personally and in our business.
