It was brilliant, could not fault it. Will buy it again.
Thank you Jenny - we're glad you enjoyed your sauerkraut!
This sauerkraut is quite simply lovely. For me it ticks every taste box, and the texture too is just perfect. Crunchy, clean and sharp, a lovely fresh, clean eating experience. Reviews, by their very nature, are personalised. What I enjoy and wax lyrical about, you might hate. So, put it to the test yourself and buy some. It promises to be perfect with Boxing Day lunch. Just be careful of the juice on the tablecloth!
Hi Brendan, thank you for your lovely review! We're glad you've enjoyed your sauerkraut! All the best,
the BCH team
Not being a Sauerkraut expert by any means this was a pleasant surprise as I had no idea what to expect.
Mixed with plain Houmous it makes an appealing healthy snack.
Thank you Neil for your kind review of your sauerkraut. Mixing it with hummus is a great idea! Maybe in a wrap with falafel? ;)
I love this sauerkraut. It’s only the second sauerkraut I’ve ever eaten but I find it very tasty. Following some research into studies I found some preliminary evidence that sauerkraut helps with IBS symptoms (although those studies aren’t of great quality). Anecdotally, I seem to have had some improvement in symptoms in the 2 weeks since starting to consume this sauerkraut. To be taken with a pinch of salt (the information, not the sauerkraut!!).
Hi Matthew, thank you so much for your kind review of your sauerkraut :) Best wishes

Frequently asked product questions:
What will be the best-before date of my sauerkraut on arrival?
We guarantee 3-months shelf-life, as long as you keep your kraut refrigerated! :) i.e. if today is the 28th February you'll receive a jar with a best-before date of eat least the 1st June.
How long after opening the jar do I have to eat the whole jar?
We recommend eating up your sauerkraut within 28-days of opening your jar. However if you pracitce good hygiene (not eating from the jar, always using clean utensils, keeping your kraut refrigerated below 5 degrees, and keeping the lid on securely) you should be able to enjoy your sauerkraut for over a longer time-period than this.
Do I need to store your sauerkraut in my fridge?
Yes. We always recommend storing your sauerkraut in the fridge; this ensures the live bacteria doesn't get up and party too much!
How 'sour' or tangy is your sauerkraut?
We ferment our sauerkraut naturally over a number of weeks, so the flavour is fairly tangy and sour - there's plenty of flavour but no 'vinegaryness'. We love our kraut - we hope you will too!
How much sauerkraut should I eat per day?
We'd always say it depends on various factors including what your dietary goals are and the state of your immune system, but generally we'd recommend eating 2 tablespoons per day.
What would you suggest I eat sauerkraut with?
Our sauerkraut is great on rye bread or any kind of darker bread, i.e. a wholemeal sourdough or pumpernickel. If you eat fish, we have lots of customers who rave about this combination. Our kraut is also great with crackers, toasties, wraps, chips (yes, chips!) and flavoured rice cakes. Eat it as you would coleslaw...
